'Chair wrapped in a deterrent' consists of a foldable chair wrapped in barbed wire. This piece seeks to juxtapose the idea of comfort with the idea of discomfort, while simultaneously reflecting on the dysfunction of certain borders around the world, mainly from miscommunication. How are we able to use this chair, if we are actively deterred from using it? How can two bordering areas communicate effectively if they are divided by barbed wire or other deterrents?
Materials: Foldable chair and barbed wire.
